Lakeside Inn's Summer Lawn Concert Series.
For July: The Wholetones, Naples, Florida
Formed in 2007 when Alex Dorris and Taylor Freydberg met at a local bluegrass jam, The Wholetones were later completed with the addition of Russ Depa on upright bass, and Mayo Coates on drums.
They play a unique mix of bluegrass, folk, jazz, and metal, all translated through acoustic instruments.
Combining impressive technical skill with the spontaneity of jazz and drive of bluegrass, they put on a captivating live show, jumping from folk to metal as easily as they do from banjo to cello. They are considered Florida’s hottest emerging band!
The Wholetones’ blend of genres is a result of the four members’ enormously varied musical appetite. They play and listen to reggae, metal, hip-hop, bluegrass, and everything in between, and the end product is a truly original sound. www.facebook.com/thewholetones
The band takes the stage at 7:30 PM, but plan to arrive early and enjoy the Lakeside Inn Street Palooza. Lakeside Inn Street Paloozas are gatherings of artists, artisans, face painters, street performers, grilled food items, drinks and even an ice cream truck. Concerts arefree– an optional donation to Lakes Cares Food Pantry of cash or non-perishable food will be appreciated.
A palooza is defined as an all-out party, and this family-friendly street party will start at 5:30 PM on the grounds of Lakeside Inn.

Located in the heart of Mount Dora, the historic Lakeside Inn was founded in 1883 and is now the oldest continuously-operated hotel in The State of Florida. The Inn’s 200-foot, lake-facing veranda is lined with traditional white rocking chairs and is the perfect spot from which to enjoy the stunning nightly sunsets. 2013 Summer Series of the Lakeside Chamber Players
Mount Dora, FL – Lakeside Inn
We are pleased to announce the premier concert of the 2013 Summer Series of the Lakeside Chamber Players-a group of professional musicians from the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra, coming together to play in a casual, cabaret setting. The concept of a “Classical Cabaret” is sweeping the country, where music lovers can sip a glass of wine or beer while they enjoy the highest level performances of chamber music. The historic Lakeside Inn is the perfect setting as they become part of a growing cultural family of artists and musicians. The July 14th “Bastille Day” (2:30pm) one hour concert will feature the music of French composers, many of whom composed and performed in Parisian cabarets and coffee houses in the late 1800's and early 20th Century. So, it's an old tradition being revived. This free concert is also meant to help benefit the Lake Cares Food Pantry and their efforts to support the needs of many families within our community. Those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for collection by a representative.
Future concerts will include jazz, theatre music, American Songbook standards along with the classical repertoire. In addition to Lakeside Chamber Players French program they will feature their own Natasha Vasilieva, playing a solo violin masterwork by Paganini. And, to top off the celebration, you will be treated to the talents of 11-year old prodigy, Veronica Harris, who will improvise classical ballet movement to Lakeside Chamber Players French pieces. Join us for this celebration. Come early and enjoy French wines and assorted cheeses available for purchase.

Finding Dora Drawdy Fundraiser - An Event for the Ladies
The Center for Multicultural
Wellness and Prevention, Inc., will host a fund raiser – “Finding Dora Drawdy”- on Saturday April 27, 2013 at the LakesideInn, downtown Mount Dora. The Lakeside Inn will be the host site where the
event starts and ends. The event will start at 10:00am sharp in the lobby of
the Lakeside Inn, where $30 ticket holders will be able to pick up a map of the
participating stores that will feature candidates for the “Finding Dora Drawdy” contest. There will be 20 participating stores
in downtown Mount Dora that will feature their own rendition of Dora Drawdy to
the public. Ticket holders ($30) will be able to use 15 coupons (which will be
given to them upon signing in at the Lakeside Inn) to vote for their favorite Dora
Drawdy candidate. Ticket holders will use the map, which will have the names
and locations of all participating stores, to visit and vote for their favorite
Dora Drawdy candidates. Ticket holders can use all 15 coupons at any one store
or they can vote among different stores.
Additionally, all ticket holders ($30) are entitled to lunch at the
Lakeside Inn. If you do not have a ticket holder, but would like to vote for
your favorite Dora Drawdy candidate, you will be able to visit the
participating stores, purchase a $1 coupon and place your vote in the box next
to the stores’ Dora Drawdy candidate. Each participating store can increase
their chance of winning the grand prize by encouraging visitors to purchase
extra $1 voting coupons.
There will also be vendors located in the lobby of the Lakeside Inn to
showcase their products and/or services to everyone visiting the Lakeside Inn. Visitors
and tickets holders will be able to visit these vendors to inquire about their
products and/or services.

12:30 pm – Luncheon at the Lakeside Inn
12:45 pm – Fashion Show featuring local Mount Dora

$30.00 including lunch at the Lakeside Inn ($15.00 LUNCH/$15.00 contribution to
help women with mammogram screening for Breast Cancer)

Each $30 ticket
comes with 15 voting coupons to nominate the winning “Dora Drawdy”

Additional voting
coupons can be purchased at all participating “Tour of Shoppes” at $1.00 EACH
·
Each
participating store will contribute $25 to be part of the fund raiser and be in
the running of being the winner of the grand prize of $125, plus being named
the best “Dora Drawdy” in Mount Dora.
·
Each
participating store can sell additional $30 tickets with the incentive of earning
25 extra coupons that would go towards selecting their own Dora Drawdy.
·
Greeting cards by
Amy Sellers featuring the portrait of Dora Drawdy will have a portion of the
sales contribute to the fundraiser.
·
All 300 tickets
will be available online through VisitMountDora(tm). There will be a $1 per convenience fee per ticket at time of sale. You may purchase tickets NOW at www.MountDoraEvents.com.

Lake County Gazette
has promised to provide “in-kind” photographers for the event. The “Finding Dora Drawdy” fundraiser will be
featured in the April 2013 issue of the Lake County Gazette.

Fashion Show
participants will feature the local downtown boutiques.

Dora Drawdy’s
great, great, great granddaughter Eva, will be the focus at the fashion show
and will crown the Dora Drawdy winner that day.
