Have hidden treasures? History Channel’s ‘American Pickers’ is heading to Florida

RELEASE DATE: November 30, 2012
TAVARES — The History Channel’s hit television series “American Pickers” is planning to begin filming its fifth season and is looking for locations in Florida to feature.
The documentary-style show follows professional “pickers” Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz on adventures that bring them to small towns across the country in search of unique Americana and fascinating people with exciting stories.
“We're looking for interesting characters with interesting items…and lots of them,” said Jodi Friedman, Producer with Cineflix, Inc. “Mike and Frank only pick private collections, so [we are not looking for] stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public.”
Anyone in the community who has a treasure-trove of historic and vintage items, and is interested in possibly being featured on the show is encouraged to contact Friedman as soon as possible, as the show is currently mapping out its filming schedule. Friedman can be contacted by email atjfriedman@cineflix.com or by phone at 646-493-2184.
