Operation Deep Freeze Frozen Custard Announces Grand Opening

Freshest Frozen Custard Ice Cream in Mt. Dora made fresh in-store daily

Mt. Dora, Florida, June 11, 2012 - Operation Deep Freeze Frozen Custard is pleased to announce their Grand Opening on June 30, 2012. Bring a donation for Lake Cares Food Pantry and save 10% on your order. Operation Deep Freeze serves the freshest Frozen Custard Ice Cream in Mt. Dora. In addition we offer Gourmet Coffee Beans, Nathan’s Hot Dogs and Taco-in-a-Bag (a great grab and go lunch or snack).

Frozen Custard is a gourmet ice cream similar to soft serve or ice cream, but because of the ingredients and the manufacturing process, frozen custard has a thicker, creamier texture and a smoother, softer consistency than soft serve, or ice cream. Frozen Custard is served fresh and at a warmer temperature than ice cream. The warmer temperature allows the taste buds to detect more of the flavor. The result is a wonderful taste sensation!

Our Gourmet Coffee Beans are roasted using an air roaster that prevents burning and scorching the beans. Our decaffeinated coffees are processed using the Swiss Water Process for decaffeination. Only pure water with activated carbon filters remove the caffeine, NOT CHEMICALS. Our beans are offered by the pound and ground to your liking.

With a long military career drawing to a close the Chief and his wife Bonnie began looking for a place to retire. After reading about Mt. Dora in the May 2010 issue of “Where to Retire” magazine several scouting missions were conducted. Captivated by the small town Americana of Mt. Dora they began their search for a home. A few months later, Bonnie began to miss the interaction she had with the public during her 25 years as a beautician. Since the Chief and Bonnie both loved ice cream and they needed a place to put almost 30 years of the Chief’s military memorabilia, Operation Deep Freeze Frozen Custard was born. The Chief retired as the Chief Flight Engineer for the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Since the last 15 years of their lives were spent talking all things Antarctic why stop? We hope you enjoy our frozen custard, coffee, hotdogs and atmosphere at Operation Deep Freeze.
