FIRE AND RAIN - THE JAMES TAYLOR EXPERIENCE
A Special Tribute Performance During Craft Fair Weekend
Plus Free Music in Donnelly Park

MOUNT DORA: James Taylor fans line up for tickets! The Mount Dora Music Festival proudly welcomes FIRE and RAIN, The James Taylor Experience to the Mount Dora Community Center, Saturday, October 27th, at 7:30 p.m. during the Mount Dora Craft Fair weekend.

This professional touring band features Greg Pitts, a Taylor look-a-like, performing amazing vocals and brilliant guitar work in a tribute concert to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame honoree James Taylor. Since being signed by the Beatles to their Apple Records label in 1968, Taylor’s timeless hits have captured generations of fans for over four decades. The popular singer, songwriter and musician has sold more than 40 million albums including 13 Top Ten LPs, and won more than 40 gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards, as well as five GRAMMY Awards.

FIRE and RAIN celebrates Taylor’s music by showcasing his greatest hits such as Something In The Way She Moves, Carolina In My Mind, Sweet Baby James, Fire and Rain, Country Road, You’ve Got A Friend, Don’t’ Let Me Be Lonely Tonight, Walking Man, How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You), Mexico, Shower The People, and many more familiar tunes.

Pitts grew up on Taylor’s music and had a fortuitous meeting with the performer at a West Point, New York concert in the early 80’s. This personal encounter led Pitts to spend years learning and perfecting Taylor’s distinctive finger-picking style which he incorporates into his live touring performances throughout the country and abroad. This top-notch musician brings years of experience playing in multiple acts and tribute bands, and he will have you singing along to the songs we have all come to know and love.

“Greg Pitts is a favorite of the Music Festival,” says executive director Nancy Howell. “Those who attended last February’s event may recall the band Alter Eagles – The Ultimate Tribute to The Eagles. They packed the house. They were so impressive and such crowd-pleasers we just had to bring them back for another show. Greg and the band are sure their fans are going to love this show just as much.”

Tickets for FIRE and RAIN are $25 advance, $30 at the door and $35 reserved and can be purchased online at mountdoramusicfest.com, by calling the festival hotline at (352) 385-1010, or in person at the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce and Donnelly Euro Footwear.

Additionally, the Mount Dora Music Festival and the Mount Dora Craft Fair have partnered to present Free Music in Donnelly Park. This lawn concert beginning at 11 a.m. features Evans Acoustic Trio performing tunes from 40’s swing, 50-60's Motown, popular country, and 60-70's pop. At 1 p.m. from the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, Kool Vibes Reggae Band plays the steel drum music of Bob Marley, Mighty Sparrow, Dennis Brown, and the Burning Flames. Performing a selection of toe-tapping bluegrass music, The Florida State Bluegrass Band, a national touring group, wraps up the afternoon entertainment beginning at 3 pm.
